The Sandrats arrive in the long-awaited city of Serenity: the capital of the metropolitan world Azmova. The crew searches for an old ally named Jerri Troskov - a man who will hopefully provide the crew with the connections they need to win the Azmovans over to their cause.

The Sand Rats might have made it out of Mazaalai, but they aren't out of the sticks yet! Forced to stop for fuel and repairs at K-SIT, (The Koraphell System's Station of Interstellar Transit) the crew anxiously counts the hours until the Shoco-II is "out of the shop"— all the while CNSA's bloodhounds close in.

After winning a near-death, in-atmosphere dogfight against government fighters, the crew of the Shoco II is forced to go on the lam. With the Mazaalain government against them and nowhere left to go but - 'forward, and fast!' - the crew will have to traverse the dangers of drilling through metadimensional space with only half a ship.

Will the crew make it out of the system alive, or will their brave bucket of bolts become their cold, eternal tomb?
