Fast talkers. Big laughs. Detroit meets Beverly Hills. This week on Reel Sisters Rewind, sisters Amanda Stephens and Missy Washam revisit the action-comedy classic Beverly Hills Cop.
In this episode, they rewind the story of Axel Foley, the street-smart Detroit detective who brings his own style of justice to Southern California after the murder of a close friend. With unforgettable one-liners, fish-out-of-water comedy, and nonstop action, this film became one of the defining hits of the 80s.
Amanda and Missy break down the movie’s most iconic moments, Eddie Murphy’s star-making performance, and the scenes that still make audiences laugh decades later. They also dive into the soundtrack, the cultural impact, and why Axel Foley remains one of the coolest characters of the era.
Whether you know every line or are watching for the first time, this episode is a fun rewind into one of the decade’s biggest blockbusters.
