On Easter Sunday 1992, three members of the Ewell family were found murdered inside their Fresno, California home. What initially appeared to be a shocking triple homicide would soon unravel into something far more calculated.

At the center of the investigation was 21-year-old Dana Ewell, the only immediate family member left alive and the beneficiary of his parents’ multimillion-dollar estate.

But Dana had an alibi. He wasn’t even in Fresno when his parents, Dale and Glee, and his 24-year-old sister, Tiffany, were killed.

So how could investigators connect him to the murders?

In Episode 3 of Beneath the Family Tree, Michelle and Jennifer take you inside the Ewell family murders. A case involving wealth, deception, a carefully constructed murder plot, and an investigation that took years to bring those responsible to justice.

Because not every family tree has strong roots.

    Some hide bodies beneath them.

It’s about survival, resilience, and maybe even a little help from a higher power.

In 1978, 15-year-old Mary Vincent accepted a ride she thought would help get her home. Instead, she found herself trapped with a man who would commit an act of violence almost impossible to comprehend.

After a brutal attack, Mary was left for dead in a remote California canyon. Her attacker believed there was no chance she could survive.

    He was wrong.

In Episode 2 of Beneath the Family Tree, Michelle and Jennifer tell the incredible story of Mary Vincent—what happened on that terrifying night, the extraordinary fight that kept her alive, and the strength it took to rebuild her life afterward.
