Behind the Production pulls back the curtain on the story of AJ Epyx Productions—from making movies in the backyards of Staten Island to building an independent production company whose work has earned film festival awards, reached audiences around the world, and ultimately found a home at Vintage City Studios. Hosted by André Joseph and Albert Albanese, the podcast offers a raw and intimate look at the journey behind the company: the projects that tested them, the films that defined them, the people they met along the way, and the victories, mistakes, setbacks, and unexpected moments that shaped their approach to filmmaking. Each episode revisits a different chapter of the AJ Epyx story through candid conversations, behind-the-scenes memories, production war stories, and lessons learned from nearly two decades of independent filmmaking. From no-budget backyard shoots and festival runs to feature-film distribution and the evolution into a professional studio operation, nothing is off limits. This isn't just a podcast about how movies get made. It's about the people, persistence, friendships, sacrifices, and experiences behind the production.
