  • Brandon Loupos | The Mental And Physical Toll To Become A BMX World Champion
    Oct 22 2026

Mental fortitude is the psychological and emotional strength that allows a person to stay calm, focused, and resolute when facing pressure, pain, adversity and or danger. If you looked up mental fortitude in the dictionary, there is a picture of Brandon Loupos.

Digging a little deeper in to the characteristics of some of strong mental fortitude -

Emotional regulation: Managing thoughts, feelings, and impulses instead of reacting automatically under stress.

    • Resilience and endurance: Persisting through long-term challenges, setbacks, or exhaustion rather than giving up quickly.
    • Goal commitment: Sticking to personal standards and promises even when conditions become uncomfortable or difficult.
    • Mindset shift: Viewing obstacles or discomfort as normal parts of growth rather than reasons to quit.

And we have confirmation, this is how best to describe BMX World Champion, multiple X Games medalist, and all round nice guy, Australia's Brandon Loupos.

From the outside, it looks like success and fame came quickly for Loupos, the reality is that he was grinding for a long time on the BMX scene, before he became a household name in the sport.

As is the case for a lot of action sports athletes, the falls and the injuries and setbacks are a part of the story, but not the complete picture. The picture is completed with multiple comeback stories and the way Loupos talks about the shattered dreams of missing the Olympics not once but twice, and continued pushing forward, I dare you to not listen and be motivated to be 1% better tomorrow, and the next day.

I've known Loupy since 2012, and have watched develop from a shy teenager with an amazing talent on a BMX, into one of the most respected riders and humans in the action sports world. Its an honour to call him a friend, and tell his story in detail.

    Enjoy

  • OZ FMX Legend Steve Mini | From Crusty Demons To The Nitro Circus & Life After Dirtbikes
    Sep 29 2026

From 2002 to 2022, there weren't too many FMX riders on the planet that rode more live events than Steve Mini.

Growing up in the regional NSW's Mudgee, Mini's first passion was for BMX, and like most FMX'ers of his generation, it was seeing the Crusty Demons VHS for the first time in the mid 1990's, that opened his eyes to the sport of Freestyle Motocross. Mini went from watching Seth Enslow on TV, to sharing a dressing room with him in 2005 on the Crusty Demons Tour, and the rest as they say, is history.

He doesn't know how many shows he has done, but its north of 2000, and in one of the world's most unforgiving sports, he forged an incredibly 20 year career, at the very top of the sport of FMX.

It wasn't without injury and tough times though, and his resilience in the face of such adversity is an inspiring listen.

Retiring on your own terms in the action sports world, is not a luxury afforded to many, and Mini's post FMX career, after retirement in 2022 from the sport, is equally inspiring.

He might be the best story teller I know, and there is some crackers in this episode, from Bilko to Travis Pastrana and everyone in between, this is a great insight into what it took to succeed, and become the locker room leader of the Nitro Circus Live tours for 11 years.

Mini is the best bloke I know. From FMX legend, to a family focused Miner, this is a great listen with one of my best friends.

  • Josh Hannah | From FMX Pro To Freestyle Kings Promoter
    Sep 10 2026

Josh Hannah is a fascinating individual. Still only in his mid 30's, he has lived 2 very different careers, the first one as a Freestyle Motocross Professional Rider, and his current exploits as the Promoter of one of the biggest action sports tours on the planet, Freestyle Kings Live.

Growing up in Western Sydney, Josh was Influenced firstly by his Dad, who ignited the love and passion for dirtbikes that you see today.

Josh's grit, determination and relentless hard work resulted in him creating the Freestyle Kings brand, which started humbly in his family's backyard in the mid 2010's, before turning in to what you see today, an action sports tour that has been all over the world, and entertained hundreds of thousands of people. Maybe millions.

Whilst Josh is a notoriously private person, this is a fascinating insight in to a mind that doesn't stop. His passion for the action sports space is second to none. The fact that he gets to share this with his family, friends and his wife is something really special.

We are all better for knowing, and for working with Josh. He is a one of a kind individual.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Josh Hannah
