In the Season 2 premiere of The Sigma Femme Podcast, I’m joined by trial lawyer, strategist and trauma-conscious advocate Charles Inch for a conversation about trauma, judgment and the human realities inside the justice system.
Drawing from nearly two decades in criminal and domestic law, Charlie shares what he has witnessed in courtrooms, jails and high-conflict family cases, including what prolonged fear, pressure and litigation stress do to clients, families and the attorneys working inside the system.
We also explore masculinity, emotional isolation and the assumptions we make about people when we see the event but not the context underneath it.
What changes when curiosity enters before judgment? What becomes possible when someone is regulated enough to make a conscious choice rather than react from fear, anger or pain?
Our conversation moves through trauma, nervous-system regulation, custody conflict, forgiveness, personal responsibility and the question of what each of us is willing to do once we recognize that something needs to change.
At the heart of the conversation is a deeper challenge: before we decide who someone is, can we become curious about what happened to them, what is happening inside them and what else may be shaping the field?

About Charles Inch
Charles Inch is a trial lawyer, strategist and advocate working to make the law more useful, humane and effective for the people who have to live with its consequences. After beginning his career in criminal and domestic law, a serious personal crisis led him to examine how trauma, stress and pressure shape decision-making and how the legal profession itself affects the people inside it.
As founder of Inch Law, Charlie combines courtroom experience with a preventative, trauma-conscious approach designed to help clients navigate legal problems with greater clarity and fewer unnecessary costs, conflicts and emotional consequences. His work includes criminal and domestic defense, preventative legal check-ups, agreements and early legal guidance aimed at addressing problems before they escalate.
His larger mission is to rethink the role of law itself, not only as a tool for litigation but as a source of protection, preparation and greater peace of mind. Outside the courtroom, Charlie is a dog dad, educator, writer and intricate woodworker.
