“I’m busy.”
Two little words. Four little letters. And apparently… a whole lot of explaining to do! 🤣
What started as a hilarious conversation about being “busy” turned into an unexpected lesson about communication, consideration, boundaries, and making time for the people who matter.
When one gentleman challenged my definition of BUSY—with a full courtroom-style interrogation, an emoji keyboard, and a rather questionable bathroom analogy—I laughed until my stomach hurt! 😂
But when the laughter settled, I realized there was something deeper worth exploring.
In this episode of
Her Voice Unfiltered, I’m sharing my original spoken-word poem “BUSY” and unpacking the uncomfortable truths hiding beneath one of the most overused words in our vocabulary. Are we genuinely busy, or have we become comfortable using the word to explain everything we haven’t communicated? Can we protect our peace while still showing consideration? And does making time for someone always require a full conversation?
We’re talking about the difference between being available and being intentional, because having boundaries doesn’t mean abandoning kindness, and having a full schedule doesn’t mean there’s no room for meaningful connections.
This episode brings laughter, reflection, a little accountability, and yes… even a poop emoji! 💩🤣
🎙️ Let’s talk about it: Have you ever felt overlooked because someone was always “busy”? Or have you been the person who simply needed a moment to yourself?
Share your thoughts in the comments!
Remember: BUSY is a description of our time. It should never become the definition of our relationships.
