Welcome to “Where the Music Never Dies”—a space devoted to the stories, spirit, and legacy of my brother, Joel William Moss, lovingly known by many as Joe-Willy or Joelie. With the passing of my brother and most recently with my husband I am finding the stories other share provides me additional memories to hold on to.This time, the storytelling is personal. Per Wikipedia he is widely known for his collaborations with Billy Crystal and Rob Reiner, both of whom my brother worked with as well. Currently Marc is releasing his book, “Never Mind the Happy” – Showbiz Stories from a Sore Winner.In October of this year, Marc and his partner joined us as we Celebrated Joel’s Life at Caffe’ Lena in Saratoga Springs along with a vibrant 2nd Line parade led by New Orleans musician Glen David Andrews—a joyful, musical farewell that captured Joel’s spirit perfectly. Caffè Lena—“Where the Music Never Dies”—and its School of Music will continue to grow, evolve, and inspire in Joel’s memory. His presence is woven into the fabric of that community, and this series is one more way to keep his light shining.Today I bring you Story #2.
