The recent situation surrounding the death of Nolan Xavier Wells and the authenticity (or shall I say lack of ) from his friend group has the nation in a doozy. How is it that a young, Black man with a promising future is no longer living after going on a Fourth of July trip with supposed “friends?” A ton of questions with even more answers that we may not ever get the opportunity to learn. One thing’s for sure is these “friends” did not provide a safe space for Nolan, but it also poses the question if any of our own friends are truly the safe space we believe them to be?
