A proposito di questo titolo
There are up to 400 billion stars in our galaxy, and as many as two trillion galaxies in the universe. Just within our galaxy alone there are potentially 6 billion Earth-like planets, and in the universe as a whole, as many as 12 quintillion. That’s a 12 with 30 zeros after it.
With all of those potential places for life to spring from, the odds of planet earth being the only one that has produced life seem vanishingly small.
And yet, as far as we can tell, we are indeed alone in the universe.
This is the basis for the Fermi paradox.
