In this episode of Crime Time Cafe, we turn to the 2026 Rape Gang Inquiry Report and read the testimony of Anna, one of the survivors who came forward.
The independent inquiry, chaired by Rupert Lowe MP, examined decades of group-based child sexual exploitation across the UK. It documented patterns of grooming, trafficking, and repeated abuse targeting vulnerable girls, alongside institutional failures by police, social services, and other authorities that allowed the crimes to continue.
Anna’s account, drawn from the report’s survivor testimony, describes how she was targeted, coerced, and assaulted, the threats and recordings used against her, the response (or lack of response) when she reported what happened, and the lasting impact on her life. Reading the testimony in full allows her words—rather than summaries or headlines—to stand as part of the public record.
This episode is a direct reading of her contribution to the inquiry. Listener discretion is strongly advised: the material includes detailed accounts of sexual violence, coercion, and institutional betrayal.
Content warning: sexual violence, child sexual exploitation, and trauma.
