A proposito di questo titolo

Why are so many Minnesota high school graduates unable to read or do math at grade level? Does Tim Walz actually think he's going to be the next president of the United States? And why does he keep swearing so much?

These are the kinds of hard-hitting questions we get into every week on the American Experiment Podcast, where we unpack the week's biggest stories, interview Minnesota's movers and shakers, and "stop the tape" on clips of our state's most ridiculous elected officials.

New episodes drop every Tuesday afternoon and are available on every major podcasting platform.

Then, a brand-new opportunity for fraudsters to steal your tax dollars just dropped. That’s right, the new paid family leave program officially launched in Minnesota at the start of the new year.

Welcome back to the American Experiment Podcast!

This week, it’s the Bill and Bill show. (Don’t worry, Grace and Kathryn will be back next week.) But in the meantime, you may have heard some CRAZY news coming out of Minnesota.

Over the weekend, Nick Shirley’s video exposing Minnesota’s daycare fraud went viral, finally confirming what we’ve been reporting for years: Minnesota is at the center of a massive fraud epidemic.

Bill Walsh sits down with Bill Glahn to break down everything you need to know, from where the fraud started to how it ballooned into a $10 BILLION scandal. Along the way, they even stop the tape to dig deeper into the details.

  • Episode 107 - The Joe Thompson Press Conference
    Dec 23 2025

Welcome back to the American Experiment Podcast!

Merry Christmas to all of our listeners! This week in lieu of our usual episode we bring you the shocking, must-watch Joe Thompson press conference.

Lead federal prosecutor Joe Thompson held a 35-minute press conference late last week to discuss the scope of the fraud, and to announce six more indictments and a new FBI raid. Thompson and his team have been looking into 14 Medicaid programs run by the state Department of Human Services (DHS) that DHS has labeled as high risk. The U.S. Attorney reported that these 14 programs have paid out some $18 billion (with a “b”) since 2018. Thompson believes that “half or more” of that amount went to fraud.

Enjoy the episode and we will see you next time!
