  • Nidal Hasan, Cornell Rape Allegations & France Riots | Faith, Justice & Truth
    Oct 28 2026

Nidal Hasan, Cornell University sexual assault allegations, France riots, and faith under pressure. Are we seeking truth and accountability, or simply defending what we already believe? When was the last time we checked the posture of our own hearts? On Alex Martinez Daily Chop, host Alex Martinez joins Natalie Martinez and Gabriel Velez for an unfiltered conversation about today's controversial headlines, biblical justice, parenting, political division, and keeping God at the center.CONTENT ADVISORY: This episode contains mature language and discussions of sexual assault allegations, consent, pornography, child abuse, terrorism, executions, drug use, religious extremism, war, and graphic violence. Listener discretion is advised. Some cases and claims discussed remain disputed, and viewpoints reflect the speakers' perspectives.JUSTICE, MERCY AND THE DEATH PENALTYWe discuss former Army major Nidal Hasan, convicted in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, and the controversy over plans to livestream his scheduled execution, plans that were later canceled. Christa Pike's failed lethal injection raises further questions about punishment, human dignity, and second chances. Alex turns to Jonah and Nineveh to ask: Do we believe in God's mercy even when we want justice?CORNELL, CONSENT AND IDENTITYThe Cornell University Chi Phi fraternity rape allegations lead into a difficult discussion about alcohol, ketamine, text messages, consent, conflicting accounts, and the importance of evidence without presuming guilt or dishonesty. We connect sexual responsibility and personal choices to identity in Christ and the examples young people see around them.PARENTING, FAMILY BOUNDARIES AND LEADERSHIPAre parents raising their children, or is the internet doing it for them? We discuss teens and smartphones, pornography, school safety, drug exposure, and why Alex and Natalie's teenagers use a landline rather than cellphones before they start driving.Alex reflects on experiences with schools in San Antonio, biblical spiritual leadership, King Jeroboam, generational patterns, and leading by example. Natalie and Gabriel challenge the idea that every destructive decision is a parent's fault, exploring trauma, personal agency, and community responsibility.FRANCE, IMMIGRATION AND RELIGIOUS EXTREMISMViral images from the October 2026 France protests lead to questions about riots, public safety, immigration, and how easily footage can be presented without context. We also discuss crime in the United Kingdom, Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and disputed political allegations, and restrictions on women's rights under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.Drawing on military service in Iraq, Alex distinguishes opposition to terrorism and extremist interpretations of Sharia law from judgment of Muslims as a whole.SOCIAL MEDIA, DIVISION AND PREPAREDNESSFrom Facebook algorithms and The Social Reckoning to misinformation, echo chambers, and political arguments, we ask whether social media is replacing real conversations. We also explore civil unrest, power grid failures, protecting family, and what combat experience teaches about life in a war zone.THE FINAL HEART CHECKWe don't have to agree to have healthy dialogue. We should question what we hear, respectfully challenge each other, and stay open to being challenged. But above all, we must examine ourselves. Is the posture of our heart aligned with God? Are we still meeting Him in the secret place, or are we becoming spiritually lazy?We don't know another person's heart. God does. Our responsibility is to check our own, daily.Join the conversation respectfully, and share this episode with someone willing to discuss difficult issues with faith, humility, and accountability.Alex Martinez Daily Chop | Faith, Identity, Accountability, Christian Leadership, Real Conversations

  • Faith, Fatherhood & the Ironworker Life | Zeke Sanchez
    Sep 23 2026

From Indianapolis to college football, fatherhood, faith, and the ironworking trade, Zeke Sanchez’s story is about adapting when life changes and learning to trust God through uncertainty.Zeke grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, also known as Naptown, and experienced high school during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He shares what it was like navigating changing classes in a school of nearly 5,000 students, dealing with disruption during COVID, and trying to find his direction as a young man.His athletic journey took an unexpected turn. After playing soccer in high school, Zeke was encouraged by a teacher to consider Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. That recommendation eventually led to an opportunity to join the Defiance Yellow Jackets college football team. Moving from Indianapolis to a small Northwest Ohio town created culture shock, but it also introduced him to friends from across the country and taught him the value of true friendship, loyalty, and having people who know your struggles and stay through difficult seasons.Faith runs throughout Zeke’s story. He talks about growing up in church, the influence of his grandfather, and what it meant to see his grandfather consistently studying the Word of God. We discuss the Book of Daniel, trusting God, prayer, patience, and how biblical faith can shape a young man facing uncertainty.Zeke also shares his college experience studying business, including fraud cases that showed him real-world examples of what not to do in business. During this season, his life changed again when he learned he was going to become a father. He opens up about telling his family and church family about the baby and how, rather than condemning him, they encouraged him to go deeper in prayer, faith, responsibility, and his relationship with God.Fatherhood became part of Zeke’s transition into manhood and changed the way he viewed work, responsibility, and providing for his family. That journey eventually led him into blue-collar work as an ironworker. Zeke talks about finding a career he loves, working toward becoming a journeyman ironworker, construction careers, job-site camaraderie, and developing the thick skin that often comes with working around other tradesmen. We also discuss skilled trades and trade school for young adults, including earning while learning, reducing college debt, traveling for construction jobs, seeing new places, per diem opportunities, and the earning potential that can come with skilled trade careers. Zeke explains why young adults should consider finding work they genuinely enjoy instead of assuming a traditional college path or the same nine-to-five workplace is their only option.Through conversations about Indianapolis, Defiance College, college football, skilled trades, ironworking, fatherhood, Christianity, friendship, work ethic, and becoming a man, Zeke’s story comes back to one message: be patient and wait on the Lord.Even during dark or uncertain seasons, Zeke encourages listeners to trust God’s timing, believe He will provide, and take time to reflect on how far God has already brought them.Topics include: Zeke Sanchez, Indianapolis, Naptown, COVID-19, Defiance College, Defiance Yellow Jackets, college football, soccer, college life, business, fraud cases, fatherhood, Christian faith, prayer, Book of Daniel, trusting God, young men, manhood, blue-collar work, ironworkers, journeyman ironworker, skilled trades, trade school, construction careers, job-site camaraderie, per diem, work ethic, career advice, friendship, and family.Alex Martinez Daily Chop, available on all platforms.
