A relationship can feel calm and still not be safe.

A relationship can have chemistry and still not be safe. It can have good communication language and still not be safe. It can avoid conflict and still not be safe.

So how do you know if a relationship is actually safe?

In this episode, Alyssa explores relationship safety through the Safety Map lens and offers practical observations for noticing what is really happening beneath chemistry, communication, validation, boundaries, apologies, and repair.

You’ll learn why peacekeeping is not the same as safety, why chemistry may distract from deeper safety questions, why communication is not just the words someone uses, why validation does not require agreement, why boundaries are not punishment, and why an apology is not automatically repair.

Because relational safety is not proven by never arguing, saying the right things, or moving past conflict quickly.

Relational safety grows when truth, needs, limits, discomfort, disagreement, accountability, curiosity, and repair can exist without the connection becoming unstable.
