Some wounds don't disappear just because time has passed.
You may have moved forward. You may smile again. You may even have days when you barely think about what happened.
And then something brings the pain back.
A Prayer for Healing From What Still Hurts is for the places in your heart that haven't completely healed—the betrayal, loss, rejection, disappointment, grief, or memories that still hurt more than you want them to.
In this prayer, we bring those tender places before God without pretending we're okay and without rushing ourselves to “get over it.”
We pray for healing that reaches deeper than the surface. For peace where there has been pain. For freedom from what continues to weigh on your heart. And for the strength to move forward without denying what you've been through.
Healing doesn't mean what happened didn't matter.
And it doesn't mean you'll never remember.
Sometimes healing means the memory remains—but it no longer has the power to wound you the way it once did.
Whatever still hurts, you don't have to hide it from God.
Bring Him the part of your heart you've been protecting. Bring Him the tears you thought you were finished crying. Bring Him what still hurts—and let healing happen one prayer, one day, and one moment at a time.

May God bring healing to the places that still hurt, peace to the memories you still carry, and grace for every step forward. Amen.
