  • All Good Friends: He Never Went Out, Now He's Rebuilding D.C. Nightlife
    Oct 21 2026

On this week’s episode, I sat down with the founder of All Good Friends, Sam Ijama - D.C.’s social experiences and creative agency.

Sam never set out to create one of D.C.’s most welcoming night life communities, it found him. After a difficult stretch of job loss, Sam entered the night life industry as security to make extra money for him and his family. Long security shifts and partying culture became the starting point for something much bigger. By watching the room from the sidelines, Sam learned how nightlife worked—and began imagining a more intentional way for people to come together.

In this episode, Sam shares how All Good Friends grew from a weekly dinner party into an expanding community built around connection, accessibility, and making people feel welcome. He explains why he keeps events affordable, offers free tickets, and is building experiences that reach beyond nightlife—from wellness gatherings to community events.

The conversation also gets personal: Sam reflects on faith, judgment, entrepreneurship, and the advice that nearly made him doubt his path. His story is a reminder that sometimes the thing you’re building is bigger than the opportunity you first saw—and that persistence can turn a difficult season into a place where others feel they belong.

On this week’s episode, I sat down with rising comedian - Nassir Saleem

Nassir Saleem is a Philadelphia-based comedian and creative known for his dry, laid-back delivery, observational humor, and ability to find comedy in everyday situations.
