What if self-care wasn’t just something you turned to when you were already overwhelmed? For years, I practiced mostly reactive self-care. I waited until my house was intolerably messy to clean it, until my body hurt to get a massage, until my marriage was struggling to communicate my needs, and until I was worried about my spending to pay attention to my dinero. Con tiempo, I realized I didn’t want to wait until something became a problem to take care of myself. In this episode of the Wealth Para Todos Podcast, I’m sharing how my understanding of self-care evolved from face masks and massages to the D.I.V.E.R.S.E. Self-Care framework I use today: dinero, interpersonal, vocational, emotional, restorative body, spiritual, and environmental self-care. We’ll talk about the difference between reactive and proactive self-care, how I use quarterly intentions, monthly outcomes, and daily practices to build self-care habits, and why some of the things that feel completely natural to me today once had to be written on a freaking checklist. I also break down the difference between comfort-oriented and growth-oriented self-care, how perfectionism can turn self-care into another thing you feel like you’re failing at, and why I now treat my self-care practices as data instead of something I need to do perfectly. Because self-care isn’t only about helping yourself feel better when you’re overwhelmed. It can also be a way to intentionally practice becoming the person you want to be—poco a poco. In this episode, you’ll learn: The seven types of D.I.V.E.R.S.E. Self-CareThe difference between proactive and reactive self-careHow to identify which type of self-care you need in your current seasonHow I turn 90-day intentions into monthly experiments and daily habitsThe difference between comfort-oriented and growth-oriented self-careHow self-care helped me change the way I show up as a parent, spouse, business owner, and personHow to build a self-care routine without turning it into another perfectionist checklist Ready to stop starting over with money?
