Birds in the freezer. Taxidermy in the trunk. Grownups screeching like hawks.
Elizabeth Terwilliger was an unforgettable teacher who taught generations of Bay Area children to see the natural world with wonder. She inspired a conservation movement that helped shape the Bay we know today, and, through the work of her friend Joan Bekins, reached more than 70 million children around the world.
Using archival recordings and interviews with colleagues and one family she inspired, we tell the story of Mrs. T, the woman whose students still smile when they hear "V is for Vulture."
Hosted by: Michael Herz & Kate Josephs
Featuring: Joan Bekins, Dolly Ghidella, Dave Herz, Dan Herz & Annie Herz
Film recordings from Terwilliger Nature Films, the Elizabeth Terwilliger Nature Education Foundation, and Pelican Media used with permission.
Music: Theme by Zac Bentz. The closing song "Fingerlympics" by Dr. Turtle is licensed under an Attribution 4.0 International License.
