We’ve been discussing many Torah sources that give us the true description of what does it mean to have bitachon in Hashem. We now moving forward to the next Torah passage, which is a piece from the Maharal (Nesivos Olam, Bitachon, Chapter 1), where the Maharal states, “How great is the attribute of Bitachon, that when one is in the category of relying on Hashem with all their heart, everything will turn out for you in a revealed, good, sweet way.”

The Maharal is writing here pretty clearly that when we apply bitachon and rely on Hashem for a particular situation, the result will be that the situation will for sure turn out for us in a positive way. And in the words of the Maharal, “that all things in your life will turn out for the good.” Again, we are seeing here very clearly from the Maharal that the attribute of bitachon is so powerful that when we rely on Hashem with all our hearts, not only will Hashem come through for us in a way that He sees best, but rather He will send us our salvation in a way that is good and sweet in our eyes too.

We're now moving forward to the next Torah source. And this is a passage from the Chofetz Chaim (Zechor Lemiryam, Chapter 20), where he states, “with regards to Hashem Himself, who is the source of all mercy and compassion, when a person places their bitachon and reliance on Hashem with truth and sincerity, Hashem will for sure send the person their salvation, and they will be saved from all evil circumstances and happenings.” Again, we are seeing here from the Chofetz Chaim, what does bitachon mean? What is the power of bitachon? When you rely on Hashem, Hashem will for sure save you from the challenging circumstances that you are going through.

A person is ill, a person is short of money, a person is looking for their zivug, a person has a relationship problem, a person is struggling with bringing up their children, or whatever else might be applicable in your life. The Chofetz Chaim is teaching us the treasure of bitachon, based on all the earlier Torah sources that we already visited, that when somebody places their true reliance on Hashem, Hashem will for sure save them from their challenging circumstance. Not that the approach is, “there are other considerations, and who knows, maybe for you, it's not best if Hashem saves you in the way that you desire.” No, the Chofetz Chaim is teaching us that when you have bitachon in Hashem, when you rely on Hashem, He will for sure send you salvation.

And again, let us highlight by the fact that there are so many Torah passages, throughout all Torah literature, that highlight that Hashem calls on us to have bitachon in Hashem, it is clear then, that it is not just a license that we have, that if we want, we can tap into this amazing opportunity, but rather, Hashem is telling us through all the many pesukim, please place your bitachon in me, through all circumstances, and it is the greatest mitzvah that we can be fulfilling. What an incredible opportunity we have, not only to receive the ultimate most tremendous reward in the next world, by doing our best to grow in the ladder of bitachon in this world, but even tapping into the most powerful weapon for ourselves in this world itself, which is that when we choose to rely on Hashem, we will actually be saved from the detrimental situations that could potentially arise for us in this world.
