We dig into Philippians 2:17-21 and Paul’s picture of being poured out like a drink offering on top of the sacrifice of Jesus. We challenge the way “self-care” can drift into self-worship and ask where we are still holding back from wholehearted obedience.
• Reading Philippians 2:17-21 and drilling into verse 17
• Self-care evaluated by purpose and mission
• Paul’s poured-out life as worship and service for others
• The drink offering image from the Jewish sacrificial system
• Jesus as the true sacrifice and our lives as obedient offerings
• “Good to the last drop” applied to money, words, prayers and choices
• Questions for men about being discipled by the world or the Word
• A call to empty ourselves like Christ rather than serving ourselves
