On the podcast this week, I’m talking about how to know whether you’re making a good decision for yourself and your business when there are so many voices out there telling you that they are the ones with the must-have solution you need…
First thing first, and this will be no surprise, we’re talking intuition.
You need to get really familiar with your body’s physical ‘yes’ and ‘no’ signals, AND you need to understand the difference between an expansive decision that feels scary versus something that’s fundamentally misaligned.
Remember, all the unethical sales strategies that rely on fake countdowns and pressure tactics are intentionally trying to hijack your inner wisdom. You don’t have to succumb to that once you’re aware of it.
When it comes to how and where you spend money in your business, it’s important that you define what your desired ROI (return on investment) is. Beyond the cold, hard cash, what if we also look at energy saved, nervous system calming, creative freedom reclaimed… What makes an investment ‘worth it’ for YOU? What feels important to you that maybe doesn’t matter to others?
Another thing to be mindful of is looking past the polish. Who hasn’t been seduced by a beautiful website, a striking colour palette and a poetic bio?! But those things can also blind us to misalignments if we’re not careful. However much you adore someone’s aesthetics, what about their values? What do others say about working with them? What’s their world view? How important is client experience to them?
Finally, before investing in anything, PLEASE ask yourself this… ‘do I have the capacity to integrate this?’ Money is never the only investment - it’s so important to evaluate whether you have the time / energy / mental capacity to actually implement what you’re investing in.
This episode looks at this topic from two angles, really - from the angle of the investor, and from the angle of the person being invested in. Understanding both perspectives will have a huge impact on how you seek support, and how you offer it!
Personally, part of my enrolment process for new coaching clients is having an honest conversation around whether this is truly the right investment for them to make, at the right time.
It’s so important to me that a client begins work with me as a wholehearted ‘yes’!
If you’re looking for support to grow your soul-led business, I’d be happy to have that kind of chat with you too…
