Hello, beautiful!

Last week we started filling our cup with ten quiet minutes. This week, we use some of that quiet time to set down one of the heaviest things we carry: a weight that was never really ours to begin with.

Let's talk about mercy and forgiveness.

Mercy is simply kindness given to someone who perhaps doesn't deserve it. But before we hand anyone else a single ounce of it, we go slow and acknowledge: you were hurt, and that hurt was real.

Then comes the part that changed everything for me, the thing a sermon taught me years ago. Forgiveness isn't for them; it's for you, it’s for me, it’s for us, because the bitterness was never hurting them; it was only ever poisoning you.

So this week, we practice setting it down.
