You send a thoughtful DM, and it sits there unread with everything else in their inbox.
𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻: why splitting your DM into short messages gets it noticed, the risk of annoying the person you're messaging, and when a bit of risk is worth it to win attention.
There are two kinds of people in the DMs. One writes the whole message and sends it in one go. The other sends a line, then another, then another. Same message. Very different effect on the other person's phone.
James explains why the second approach almost always gets read. Ten notifications instead of one creates curiosity. Who sent me all these? But like voice notes, some people love it and some people can't stand it. You only find out after you've sent it. That's the gamble, and sometimes grabbing attention means taking it.
