We consider three essential things believers must remember: where we are headed—the grace that will be fully revealed at the return of Jesus Christ; who we belong to—as adopted sons and daughters of the holy God; and what He has commanded—living holy in all our conduct, putting to death the deeds of the flesh and walking in step with the Spirit. This isn't about earning God's favor but responding to the reality of who we already are in Him.
