Paul is writing to people who thought they were spiritual but were carnal. They were self interested. Their building of the church was bound to meet failure. You cannot build with better materials than the gold and jewels of God's word. Either you teach your idea, or you teach God's idea. His thoughts are all gold and gems. A person who pushes their personal agenda is deceived, no matter how brilliant their idea is. Let go of your idea, and realize that you don't understand God's thought process. Search out His thoughts.
