Sintesi dell'editore
Cha Ming and Huxian are back at the bottom of the food chain. Emperors and immortals would kill for their secrets.
The Inkwell Plane is a magical place. Daoist arts and technology work hand in hand, and transcendents are on friendly terms with demigods and demons. But not all is well. As a new ascendant, there aren’t many people who are weaker than Cha Ming. He must fight to prove his worth and carve out a place for himself in this dog-eat-dog world. To succeed, he may need to share more secrets than he’s comfortable with.
Huxian and his friends find themselves surrounded by strange new customs and powerful demons. Why toe the line when they can start breaking rules the moment they land? It's too bad demonic society doesn’t take kindly to thieves and scoundrels. They’ll need to adapt if they ever hope to be reunited with Cha Ming.
One man. A pack of rowdy demons. A world that’s falling apart. It’s rotten at its core, and no god, demon, or immortal can save it.

The best book in the series yet
I don’t leave written reviews often, but this book was by far the best one in the series.

Still like following the story but still the same issues as before
Classic Patrick and his treatment of his main MC. As usual he’s found another way to stall Cha Ming’s cultivation. I was actually expecting that I just didn’t expect 19 hours of reading to still result in the guy barely making progress in both his cultivation methods plus the guy still hasn’t even found a soul cultivation method after all this time. Other cultivation MC characters might have lower cultivation than most people around them, however the difference is that those guys can fight above realms easily because their cultivation method is that great and qualitatively different. This guy on the other hand is both slow in his cultivation and comprehension, a frog at the bottom of a well and can barely fight across realms even though the writer made his cultivation techniques sound so grand and unique. He carved poetic runes into his core but so what. Has he actually used his special core to do anything special. It’s like he purposefully follows the hard path but still has the same rules, strength and limitations as everyone else following the normal path. If that’s the case then what’s the freaking point of his sparkly dazzle cultivation technique if it’s just for show. You’d think a guy who supposedly has worlds and voids in his body as well as access to creation and destruction and something called the Myriad truths diagram would be special, but he’s trash in his fighting crafting and applications skills. It’s like the guy doesn’t even know what he has and it’s value. One thing I hate is MCs who barely even use 10% of their potential and this guy is just that. It’s fine in the early books but we’re in book 10 for God’s sake and the guy is still foolishly wasting his potential while thinking he’s some hot stuff. Plus what’s with the change in writing tone. It’s like he dummed down all the characters just for the sake of them asking stupid questions to make the novel seem better and more funny than it actually is. Cha Ming has asked some extremely stupid questions in this book for someone who’s supposed to be smart and resourceful. 19 hours just for the guy to barely advance in his cultivation or combat style and as usual as it always is drag hoxien down with him by slowing him down as always. Their bond of brother hood sometimes feels more like a curse especially to hoxien since Cha Ming himself is always behind in progress and strength. WEAKLING!!!

The series took a silly turn here.
This series was interesting. It had some traditional content lines but were done well. It started getting dodgy around five and six but this book took the cake. Its like the author stuffed every cheap trope and gimmick they could, spliced with jarring jokes for quick laughs in place of a solid story. It was very surprising given the tone of the series in previous books.

Great series
If you’re here reading this you probably have already read all the books and can ignore this review since you know they are all fantastic. In the off chance you haven’t read all the books my only question is why not? If you like cultivation this is the series for you. The author is a clever writer and consistently over delivers on these books in an amazing way. He’s able to tie bits and pieces of the story back to each other extremely effectively, keeping the story/plot building in a way that makes you want to keep coming back for more and more. I really like the way he writes from multiple characters perspective which does nothing but add more and more to the plot. Each book is always the perfect length, for the credit you simply cannot go wrong.

Can’t wait to read the next book
I’m really enjoying the series. Great characters that I feel I’m travelling with through the story. Good foreshadowing and tension.
