Sintesi dell'editore

Snow is falling, cookies are baking, and Christmas is just around the corner in Willow Ridge, Missouri, where a new season marks fresh beginnings for the residents of the tranquil Amish town.

As another year draws to a close in Willow Ridge, life seems to be changing for everyone but Rhoda Lantz. Her widowed mother is about to remarry, her sister is a busy newlywed, and soon Rhoda will be alone in her cozy apartment above the blacksmith's shop. An ad posted by an Englisher looking for someone to help with his mother and children may offer just the companionships he's looking for - but if she falls for the caring single father, she may risk being shunned by her community. Certain she can only wish for things she cannot have, Rhoda must remember that all things are possible with God, and nothing is stronger than the power of love.

GREAT BOOK!

This is my favorite so far of the first three in the series. This is such an amazing series, I find myself anxiously awaiting my lunch break at work to get a few more minutes in. This particular book had me listening every chance I got-getting ready for work, in the car traveling, lunchbreak, travel home, all evening, and while I fell asleep with the sleep timer on. I am so thrilled with this series, I wish it would never end. This sweet story speaks of the fact that God really can do more than we could ask or think. It has taught me strong lessons about my own life, made me see things from a different angle, and was very timely. God’s perfect timing, as always. Can’t praise this author enough.

No decision making processes described

Story went from them meeting to her deciding he is marrying her in days. There weren't any dialogues about a possible marriage, no proposal, no decision processes described. It was just her assuming then deciding then saying that he will marry her. There also wasn't any consideration for his side of choices, his life. I hated that he had to give up everything he is, everything he worked for, everything his kids know, just for a chance to be with her, while she gave up nothing. Sounded unfair to him and his children that it's them who had to earn a life with her in her world, while there wasn't even a line in the book on her considering what she'd give up for them.
Reading was good.

Winter of wishes

This is the third ebook of Charlotte Hubbard I have read, and am amazed at the depth of spiritual understanding of her writing. I recommend not only this volume, but anything written by her,for spiritual growth.

Good story clean reading enjoyable for most ages

I enjoyed this book it is an escape from this fast-paced society and it was good clean reading. One thing I would like to add though, Amish women are not allowed to court divorce me and so I could see why this ornery bishop was acting the way he was although it did not give him an excuse to go outside the order number the way he did. I can’t wait to see how wrote a story turns out regarding the situation. I like to read about the simple yet extraordinary people. I like the way Charlotte paints them is not perfect, ordinary. For that’s the way they are. She does not romanticize them she paints them as human beings that we can learn so much from.

lots going on in this book

Another great book by Charlotte Hubbard. This is the 3rd book in the Seasons of the Heart series. It's not to hard to figure out the story line if you haven't read the 1st 2 books, but from the ending you will want book 4 to see where the story goes next.

In this book you learn the beginning of Rhoda and Andy's love story. How they met and how their lives start coming together.

You also get more of Bishop Hirams shunning. You get to go to Mariam and Ben's wedding. There's a terrible slay wreck involving children.

Just a great story to listen to.

Storyline doesn’t add up

This one was disappointing after listening to previous ones. Rhoda supposedly madly in love with an English divorced single dad after working for him for less than a week? Really? And he had to be at least 10 years older? I thought Amish could not marry divorced people—that was never addressed.
And a new grad RN can run his own medical practice? I don’t think so!
This one was disappointing and felt like the author did not research her storylines well.
Narrator did a good job despite a poor story.

A beautiful story

I laughed, cried and really enjoyed this story. I loved all of the characters in it. I hope if you read this that you too will have the feeling of being one of this family.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL GUT STORY

Winter of Wishes is another great story of an exciting cast of family and friend characters and how one of the family goes through trials and challenges that affect everyone . How tremendous to show that GOD'S love and mighty power always wins over evil. The story also reflects when you trust in GOD rather then your own ability and ways, HIS promises come to pass. I've read the complete series and highly recommend listening to all the stories. Charlotte Hubbard never fails to encourage to keep GOD first and Susan Boyce has continued to make each character in all the stories come alive and real. I'll miss being with this wonderful group of people and wish the stories were real!!!!

Inspiring and beautiful Story

I certainly enjoyed reading this second book. Characters are loving but with great faith. I truly admire such human feelings but such inspiration I found in this book! I highly recommend this read.
