I'm giving 3 stars and not 2 because the first book was really, really good. The second was ok. And so on. Now the writing is repetitive, supposedly "smart" people do and say really stupid things, the characters are less and less like themselves. Erin, especially, from normal resourceful if somewhat silly girl she was, has gone to full manic pixie girl annoying mode. I bought the first book because I wanted to support the author but won't buy the rest. The author has many good ideas but really needs an editor. This series could be a GREAT fantasy series, one of the best, but it NEEDS editing.
