Could have been better

It starts out exciting enough, with a blackout that paralyses New York and traps a bunch of co-workers in an office with a corpse and a killer, but it loses steam along the way. The “end of the world” atmosphere is too contrived, the characters are lively but there’s something forced about the raunchiness, not to mention the constant undertone of dated sexist attitudes. The mystery is also unsatisfactorily resolved, with barely any set up for the final twists.
I really liked the dynamic between the two protagonists though, a hard-boiled pair of friends.
