Sintesi dell'editore

Master storyteller and essayist C. S. Lewis here tackles the central questions of the Christian faith: Who was Jesus? What did he accomplish? What does it mean for me?

In these classic essays, which began as talks on the BBC during World War II, Lewis creatively and simply explains the basic tenets of Christianity. Taken from the core section of Mere Christianity, this book provides an accessible way for people to discover these timeless truths. For those looking to remind themselves of what they hold true, or those looking for a snapshot of Christianity, this book is a wonderful introduction to the faith.

Lewis mente cristallina.

È un vero piacere ascoltare i suoi discorsi, ben interpretati dal narratore. I contenuti spingono a seguire questo flusso inarrestabile di verità, una dopo l’altra, quasi fossero ragionamenti fatti dall’ascoltatore stesso.

Incredible.

Lewis gets straight to the heart of what being Christian actually is. He hits the hard stuff swiftly and doesn't waste time. He uses solid logic around the issues he had as a believer and when he didn't believe. It's a fast listen and absolutely wonderful.

Rated on Content

This was a tough listen for me on audio, but I will listen again. The content is true to C.S. Lewis and always an encouragement. He is able to present Jesus in a manner that cannot be argued.

A jewel from C.S. Lewis

As a diehard fan of C.S. Lewis, I enjoy all of his books. This one, "What Christians Believe" is a concise review of the major doctrines of western Christianity - I never knew C.S. Lewis had written such a book. This little book covers what Christians believe in an entertaining, nonconfrontational, and informative manner. His simple, direct style makes some important concepts and ideas obvious, that otherwise had been dull and foggy. The narrator was excellent! His presentation was clear and soothing, but also lively and entertaining - it will never put you to sleep.

Brilliant

CS Lewis is brilliant and brilliantly explains Christianity.
I hope that everyone who reads his book or listens to the audiobook does themself the favour of being honest and allows the words to confront and challenge their beliefs.

Amazing!

Lewis is absolutely the best at taking difficult concepts and stating them in ways that allow the average person to grasp. This book is no exception. I listened in awe as the foundational beliefs of Christianity were explained so simply and effectively. Truly a brilliant mind!

Cosham is an excellent narrator and does a great job here as well.

Christianity? Find out why in 45 minutes!

I was blown away by the faith and reasoning, by the eloquence with which the title topic is covered and all in such a short time. I selected many bookmarks of wonderful quotes. This is something to listen to more than once for sure!
Do you doubt your own faith or have a friend who is an atheist? This is a reassuring listen for you and a challenging listen for your friend. I think it's one of C S Lewis' best because of its brevity. It's like a mixture of fine ingredients that has been distilled down to a rich, delicious sauce. Taste and see!

SHORT BOOK BUT WORTH A LISTEN

I found this book very interesting and educational

It is a very short book (under 60 min) I was disapointed that it was not longer.

Some deep theology but presented in an interesting and clear maner.

It's pretty profound

Mixed Emotions

What Christians Believe - By: C. S. Lewis

I am just a simple man - probably one of the farthest thing from being a scholar or a Theologian. I do have my own theories that might not coincide with mainstream Theology, but, due to certain "events" in my life, I am no longer a believer, but am now a knower. Having said such, I found Mr. Lewis' presentation of the subject somewhat confusing. He presents many pluses, countering same with many minuses, and when put together, in my opinion, comes up with zero. I have always found it difficult to follow along with the philosophers. Unless I misinterpreted his references to Jesus, I felt a bit taken aback at his referring to Jesus as God - everything I ever read, heard or learned about Jesus was that he was THE SON OF GOD. Based solely on his opinion / presentation in this book, this is NOT what this Christian believes.

A valuable resource for Christians and informative for those who want to know!

This is a great book for those of us who struggle with witnessing to friends, foes and family!

Broken down to the really basic points of Christianity and without ‘bullying’ a person to believe. Listening to this narration by Ralph Cosham is really soothing and it is put over really well.

Definitely worth keeping this close to hand.

Powerful

C. S. Lewis was a brilliant and convincing writer. The arguments he makes here are genuinely compelling. However, the logic doesn't quite hold up.

Rebellious - Repentance - Righteousness

As a Redeemed Christian, I am so glad I came across this book. I have learned of ways to help those willing to listen to sound reasoning about Who was Jesus, Why he came to die and What I believe as Believer.

Notable Points:
👉🏽Humans are not damaged creatures to be fixed but rebellious creatures that need to lay down their arms.
👉🏽Jesus came as God to do what only the ABSOLUTE can do.
👉🏽It’s a foolish and patronising statement to say that one accepts Jesus as a good moral teacher, He is either who He said He was and Is or a lunatic.

“I have come that they may have life in abundance…” John 10:10

May this book minister to your understanding💝
