Caught up in Chaos
First, aside from all the awesomeness that is the men of the Chaos MC, I LOVED catching up with the Chaos old ladies, Tyra, Lanie, Tabby and Carissa, the dream men, Hawk, Brock and Mitch, and the kick-ass, tell-it-like-it-is, I-so-wish-these-were-my-girls, super women, Elvira and Shirleen. There was even a moment in Fortnum's - (sigh) - just another one of those little things that make every new Kristen Ashley book release a celebration of surviving the anticipatory countdown to fabulousness.
I'm not going to rehash the overall storyline because you really just have to jump in and experience it for yourself, but here's an example of why Kristen Ashley is so beloved and has such a loyal fan base: Initially, I thought the reason for Millie and High's separation was kind of lame, but I was good with just rolling with it and seeing where it went. However, KA's ability to not just describe but to illustrate with bright colors and deep shades of emotion exactly WHY what Millie did in that situation, given who she and High were at that time of their lives with the depth of their love and their desire to give each other the world was NOT lame at all. It was actually a beautiful sacrifice in its youthful inexperience and somewhat misguided tragedy that finally led to a kind of kharmic perfection where dreams come true. When an author can show you something from a different perspective AND make you see it while taking you on a journey that at times feels like the best and worst ride of your life, that is a stellar feat. Hence, the fact that every single KA audiobook is in my library and all future releases will be automatically pre-ordered.
AUDIO: Kate Russell is great as is usual. She voiced the Dream Man Series and most of Chaos which is a spin-off from DM and has remained consistent. She does a great job of making these beautiful stories come to life. As soon as I heard "Lanie's voice," I knew it was her well before the "Lanie said" later in the sentence. I almost exclusively listen to books, as opposed to reading them, and so I am definitely PICKY about readers/narrators/performers. KR is a performer, which is my favorite audio experience when done right, and she does it right. Anything and everything KA is worth a credit, cash, your mom's jewelry........so just go ahead and click Add To Cart, and you will never be disappointed.

5 Walk Through Fire Stars
After reading Ride Steady, I was kind of leery going into this one because I loved that one so much.
But I didn't have to be High & Millie total kicked this books BUTT!
There love story is swoon worthy and hard too. So much time in-between you can’t help but feel the loss they both shared.
But it doesn't make this book a downer by any means. We get to see them fall in love all over again. I loved that.
Logan aka High, is one heck of a father and I like I like that part best getting that glimpse in to him as a father.
It wasn't easy bringing the girlfriend in but I think that’s what made this book real for me. That not everything is easy and fluffy in a romance sometimes it’s gritty and you have to go through the pain to get to the soft squishy insides.
Millie, her story was a little harder to take, it took some time to find out what it was but when you do it will sock you in the gut. It’s powerful and heart breaking but High is there now to help pick up the pieces.
I neeeed more of this series, the narrator again really does a smashing job. Loved it.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

A HEARTBREAKING LIFE CHOICE THAT TOOK 20 YRS TO HEAL
Well I'd gladly walk through fire for one of Kristen Ashley's books..... they're that good and, even when it's perhaps not her best (like this one), I'd still do it because I know the book will still be a worthy 5 star listen.
For three years Millie and Logan had it all - a tight and loving relationship that was soul deep and their love for each other was unmovable, visible and beautiful to see - nothing and nobody could take it away..... until the cruel hands of fate dished out a blow that forced Millie to make the ultimate sacrifice..... Logan. Now, 20 years later, Millie sees Logan, the man who's always had her heart, and what she overhears makes her decide that now is the time to tell him the truth about why she left but Millie encounters a very different Logan than the one she used to know and their meeting was emotional, brutal and painful.... so, instead of it being a sweet reunion it was a bitter and toxic exchange of orgasms.
Immediately you're drawn into the story and feel for both characters as they suffered through the tragic loss of a precious one-time love that took with it their hopes, dreams, happiness and left each of them with a gaping void where the other person should be. And this is the magic of KA writing abilities that you too feel their loss, their anger, their devastating heartbreak and their mixed up feelings when they tentatively got closer again. Closer, in Millie's case, to the man she gave up everything for and who she'd walked through fire for - and, in Logan's case, closer to the woman who broke his heart, stole his happiness and took his joy with her. Not able to stay away, Logan decided that this time Millie was just going to have to play the game his way..... hard, quick, cold and bitter f::ks with zero trust. But slowly, and with many fierce and damaging words exchanged, the ice around Logan's heart began to melt and then he finally heard the truth as to why Millie left.... and it totally broke and floored him. However, there were other hurdles still in their way.... like his two little girls, the Chaos MC members, the Old Ladies and a rival MC Leader who's intent on wiping out Chaos.
Worth a credit? Multiple POV's (but mainly H/H), lots of entertaining faces from past books, a great narrator who did the Alpha 'clipped' biker sentences so well and an awesome storyline that had angst, drama, heartbreak, tears, tragedy, passion, romance, sex and character growth as well as a lot of coming to terms with where life's led them to. But, through it all, it was a love story that weathered the storm of betrayal as Millie and Logan forgave each other in order to have all their tomorrows together. So YES another entertaining and amazing listen that was creditworthy, sighworthy, droolworthy and cashworthy.

This one tops Tara and Tacks love Affair!
I loved Millie and High!!! Their story makes you hope you find that love you can't live without. I didn't care for the beginning of them reconnect it was harsh. If you can get by that you will love this story.
It's so worth the credit.

Not her best, but still really good...
Let me just say that I am extremely biased. KA is one of my all time favorite authors, so it is hard for me to find anything bad about her writing. I thought Walk Through Fire was really good. For me, it was just not one of KA's best, but we all have our favorites. That said, I will probably listen to it again, because I lover her stuff and this series.
This one was a little predictable, I knew where it was going and when that happens it is hard to stay engaged, so if you are not a true KA fan, this may be disappointing or slow at points. I also got tired of the flashback sequences, they tried to give the backstory, but it was a little too forced imo. It was also hard to suspend disbelief on the 20 separation, who does not get on with their life in 20 years? I found it had to reconcile.
Other then that, we see a lot of friends from other books, which is nice and there is the same relationship building that we see in all of KA's books, which I love.
As for a recommendation, I would not start here, but if you are a KA fan, I would not miss this one. If you are new to KA, I envy you all the great reads/listens you now have. Start with the beginning of this series, this is the last one.

OVERALL THIS IS A TOTAL 10!
Yet another fantastic Kristen Ashley novel! KA certainly knows how to write a great 30/40-something-ish-year-old badass biker romance novel. Walk Through Fire is a beautiful story about an epic love. Oh to have that one day! This book is worth every credit and every minute spent listening. There's humor, steamy romance, and the most touching scenes between the two main characters. Heed my words and get this book ASAP.The book could be stand alone but they're much better read in sequence.

Another excellent K Ashley book!
I know others felt like the second half of the book dragged, I honestly didn't feel that way. It was great seeing how Logan and Millie get to work through their issues after being apart for so many years.

Where is my Logan ?
I have read a lot of Kristen Ashley's books. I love many. In fact, one of them is in my top 10. From the second I finished reading this book, I knew it was going to stay with me, and I couldn't wait for the audio because I was dying to hear Logan - one of my favorite KA alphas. So, here is why I have such a problem with this audiobook -
Where is Logan ? He is supposed to be over 40, with a low gravelly voice, yet what I hear when I listened to the narrator reading him was an excited 20 year old. When he's having serious, angry moments, the narrator brings him forward as this almost aloof youngster. He does not sound like a hardened biker AT ALL !! Yes, clearly it's a woman doing a man's voice, I get that. There are so many other books with female narrators who can do a mean rough manly voice.
I have found that with Kristen Ashley audiobooks, I'm constantly being let down. I think she writes amazing alpha male characters but desperately needs to look into having male narrators to really make her audiobooks work. I mean - if you listened to this and thought "oh yeah, Tack sounds great.." um, NO.

Ruined Hero's voice
Every time the narrator opened up her mouth to speak for the hero she was yelling!! Not only that but the voice was manic. I understand that she's a woman and can't do a successful male voice, but her version of what a man sounds like is absolutely laughable. Every time the hero speaks it's cringe worthy!! The guy shouts every time, as it to her a males voice is just always loud. Just have a conversation he doesn't need to be proclaiming every sentence. I will not be buying another book if this is the narrator she's terrible

To long
This book started of promising, I got into the story very fast. Unfortunately it felt like all the good stuff happened in the first few hours! I did wonder what would happen as there was still over 10 hours left. Well pretty much nothing! Lots and lots of the same kind of talk with a very weak storyline, very repetitive language. The narrator did a good job of the female voices but I couldn’t stand the voice she used for Longan which really ruined it for me. Won’t be rushing fir more in the series.

Millie and Logan
Millie and Logan were an item when they were younger, the ultimate biker couple. They had it all to look forward to until one day Millie pushed him and he walked away, never looking or going back..
More than 10 years has passed and Millie has never moved on, but Logan "high" Judd has married and has two girls, he and his wife Debbie are in the process of an polite divorce. The first time Millie tries to explain why she did what she did Logan treats her like a piece of biker @ss.
From here things go rapidly down hill as Tyra and her crew decided that High and Millie really should be together and attempt to stage various interventions that go from bad to worse.
The final straw is when the plastic crate that used to be in Millie's closet of her and Logan's earlier life turns up in the hands of a Chaos' enemy ..... Benito V. He threatens Millie who in turn realises this is club business and runs in a blind panic to the Chaos compound demanding to speak to the club president and shouts she wants to be left alone. High is found and as he enters and tries to calm her down Millie spills the big secret as to why she left him.
Yes they get their HEA (finally) but not before Beneto has another go and Zadie, High's youngest daughter turns into a spoilt brat.
