Getting Pretty Tired of Max
I have enjoyed this series and have binged listened to the books, but books 4 and 5 have begun to go downhill. Though I still like most of the characters in the group I am getting tired of Max's adolescent behavior.
Though Max has never been my favorite character, I find myself getting more annoyed by the minute with her pouting and her "I can go it alone" attitude.
I am only halfway through this book; I hope it will get better since the story is pretty focused on her.

Can't wait for the last book
A second read of this one and still hits the heart. This one had me in tears.

(Great Narration) but "Disappointed" in the book
I DO NOT like leaving reviews. However I think I will this time. This has been one of the best series I have following from the start. I really like the content and the characters. I have wait for Book 5 for a good while like all who follows the series. Unlike the books 1-4, Book 5 took me no were. "My option only" it seem to be a little out of order. It should have covered Max's PTSD in book 4. I'm guessing in Book 6 will talk about Alex's PTSD. This puts you one whole book in between the trauma that occurred to those main characters. This book should have been 4.5 or Books 4-5 should have been one. The time frame was just about 4 weeks maybe 5. For them to be on the offensive, There was no real hunt for Calhoun. No probing of the area he was suppose to be in etc. There was good information from East and Candice Father ETC , I can go on but I'm sure the real followers may or may not agree.
One cannot fault the narrator for reading what they are given. "Tess Irondale" has been consist with all the characters.

Waste
Love the first few Books but this one was totally pointless. Very disappointed. Nothing happens what the heck.

Love the whole series
Overall I love the story. Great apocalypse series. I enjoyed all 7 books. Relatable and authentic characters. Good narration. I liked how the story is told from multiple character’s POV.

Too much story recycle and yammering
So Max in the second book is a very deferential Max in this book, and the book before. I am not sure why the author devolved this character so much from the first book into a self-centered, cold vapid character, even the love story between Max and Griffin devolved into a ho hum boring facet of the story. This book was a waste for me and disappointing. Shame because book 2 was my favorite.

Just OK. Narrator is lacking.
While the story is passable, the narrator does a horrible job of conveying male voices. Many male characters seem to have the same cheesy "macho" voice she tried to portray.

Excellent
So worth the wait.
The Challenges that the family face in this instalment are heart breaking, tough and challenging but again the writing is fluid and strong and the character development and especially between the siblings is so well done, flawless really that the journey the book and author take you on is a world wind of emotion. It's thought provoking really... so many times I'm expanding and looking at situations in my life and changing perspective while listening. so powerful.
Again the narration is faultless.... The narrator is never overly dramatic. Never too much. The cast are all easily recognisable, making the storyline easy to follow by ear.
So deserving of 5☆'s. Another smash hit. XxX

A nice read but quite a basic plot
Fantastically read by narrator. I've really enjoyed the last few books but felt this book was a little slow compared to the others in the series. The ending was not that captivating and I lost concentration and felt I was drifting off. Slightly disappointed. That said I will listen to the final book as I do enjoy all the characters. I am hoping to hear more about Storm the dog and Isacc as they where pushed into the background too much in this book. Previously a hero Storm is virtually forgotten about apart from his barking! The siblings are good but dominate this book, yes it is a story about them but what made the last few books where a good mix of characters. Hoping for a come back in the last book of the series..
