Gillian lives with her 19-year-old daughter and 89-year-old mother, and life is a constant balancing act. Who is the chief dissenter among the three women who live noisily together under one roof: opinionated daughter, Chloe, very opinionated elderly mother Berenice, or the poor beleaguered Gillian in-between? Stuck in the middle, Gillian feels she must carry on being sensible, while everyone else - the young and the old - run amok. Her mother grumps about in the garden and her daughter sobs upstairs. She finds on these occasions that she tends to play football with the dog. For Gillian, living in a rather dramatic household, empty nest syndrome seems a delightful prospect…
