Sintesi dell'editore
In Danielle Steel’s powerful new novel, four trauma doctors - the best and brightest in their field - confront exciting new challenges, both personally and professionally, when given an unusual opportunity.
Bill Browning heads the trauma unit at San Francisco’s busiest emergency room, SF General. With his ex-wife and daughters in London, he immerses himself in his work and lives for rare visits with his children. A rising star at her teaching hospital, UCSF at Mission Bay, Stephanie Lawrence has two young sons, a frustrated stay-at-home husband, and not enough time for any of them. Harvard-educated Wendy Jones is a dedicated trauma doctor at Stanford, trapped in a dead-end relationship with a married cardiac surgeon. And Tom Wylie’s popularity with women rivals the superb medical skills he employs at his Oakland medical center, but he refuses to let anyone get too close, determined to remain unattached forever.
These exceptional doctors are chosen for an honor and a unique project: to work with their counterparts in Paris in a mass-casualty training program. As professionals, they will gain invaluable knowledge from the program. As ordinary men and women, they will find that the City of Light opens up incredible new possibilities, exhilarating, enticing, and frightening.
When an unspeakable act of mass violence galvanizes them into action, their temporary life in Paris becomes a stark turning point: a time to face harder choices than they have ever made before - with consequences that will last a lifetime.

Hard to get into
To much information at start of book. Confusing. Hard to distinguish players. Took me till chapter 6 or 7 to really understand parts.

No No No
So sad I have been waiting for a new book from Danielle Steel but this is not good. There is a too much retelling of the same thing, feels like just a filler. Never got attached to any of the character. Not enjoyable

Oh please...
This was terrible. The repetition was ridiculous. We get the point, time to move on to the next thought. OMG Stephanie! Most annoying woman ever. I can’t imagine how someone so stupid could be a well respected trauma doctor. Danielle Steele does not write like she used to. 😞

Just okay.....
I was on the fence about even buying this one. It was okay but nothing special. There were a few chapters that had some substance but the bulk of it was very predictable. Family drama, over sexed single men, adultery, sick children.
The narrator was good for the male roles but terrible for the female roles.
Seems Danielle Steele took a break when she created this one. Looking forward to the next one from DS and hoping it's better than this one.
Wait for it to go on sale.

Too shallow
Oh my goodness. What an awfully written book. Its like the author needed to remind herself in every chapter what had happened or what the characters are feeling. Repeat, repeat, repeat. And then when something actually happens (the school shooting and meningitis), it is over in a flinch and does not get into detail enough. Well, nothing gets too deep. I did not care for the characters, though they had huge potential, but they were handled too shallow. Sorry, story line gets one star.

Very disappointing
Very disappointing for a Danielle Steel production. Perhaps the story would not have seemed as boring if it was narrated by someone else with a more lively voice.

Turning Point
Fantastic. I was pleased with this selection as I was hesitant to buy it based on the reviews. I was happy to find it another typical Danielle Steel novel. I had no trouble following the story or characters but a great time following the story and details of the characters through this.
