CULTURE VULTURES!
As a Jamaican, this book was an Insulting piece of crap! That nasty imitation to my native speech was OFFENSIVE beyond OFFENSIVE! This book is VILE and it has plagerized parts from the movie 'Mark for death's ( another insult from the past). Black Americans, should understand that their imitation of other black cultures is just as OFFENSIVE as the offense the find in whites imitating black culture.....Yow dis rass yah insulting BAD! and de duchtress gyal should a dead....killing new borns and such is disgusting!!!!! Eureka go SYM 🙄

THIS NARRATOR WAS HORRIBLE
THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD BOOK IF THE NARRATOR WAS A DIFFERENT PERSON. IT WAS OVER EXAGERATED AND ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE STORY LINE WAS OKAY BUT IT TOOK LONG TO UNDERSTAND WHERE THE STORY WAS GOING AND HARD TO FOLLOW. WILL BE RETURNING THIS BOOK

I am English, but this was an Insult to all Jamaicans
I recommend that if you do not have Someone who speaks the language or accent for your characters in the book, then just have a book to read NOT AUDIBLE, do not insult other people’s cultures. If you had a French character in the book, would that French man speak Spanish ?
Hell No ...................so why would you think it is OK to have someone who did not even remotely sound close to any Jamaican, I was appalled.
I liked the story and Mishi was good when she stuck to her own accent. but I will never listen to one of your books again. It was truly disrespectful, see how you Americans would like it if someone botched up your accents on audible.

What a hell read
This book was horrible. The fake Jamaican accent was nerve racking. The best part of this book was the very end. The part that said this conclude the end of blah blah blah.

Ugh!!!!
I got to page 32 and just skipped to the end, I hated how Dutchess kept coming out on top, especially after killing a newborn baby

Garbage
I'm so sorry I had to trash this book. if it wasn't for the narrator I would have trashed this book long before I did. The narration carries the book. . I know it's fictional but dang. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.

This would have been a good listen BUT the Jamaican accent was represented disrespectfully as they sounded real bad!!! I couldn’t even continue listening… smh!
