Sintesi dell'editore
The legend of the weeping stones is old: They weep only in the presence of one whose destiny is integral to the survival of Scotland. However, there is a sting in the tail of the blessing; whoever is so marked by the stone is fated to love only once, whether it be for good or ill.
Gair witnessed the stone weep when Heather touched it. Now he must decide whether to uphold his oath to protect the Templar Knights' treasure or protect at all costs the frail lass who is destined to save his beloved Scotland. With either choice, his soul and his heart are at risk.
Heather knows she is destined to love only once. Now, trussed and kidnapped, she vows never to trust the man who in one breath tries to kill her and in the next vows to keep her safe from harm - even though her heart aches for him to love her.

No love scene
I had read a review stating, "I am a veteran of racy romance novels, but I blushed at the intimacy in this book." There is no love scene! I picked this one up and stuck with it as the story dragged on waiting for this racy intimate scene, and it never came (pun intended). The ending lacked substance as well. Performance was well done though.

Promises unfulfilled
The story was promising and the beginning was great. Then it just seemed to be rushed and there was very little development and it jumped around without the reader/listener knowing how you got from one part to another. Just a total new scene and characters from one sentence to the next. I gave up on following.
There is NO sex or intimacy at all. So if that's what you want, this isn't the book for you.
Narration. Both the male and female narrators are good individually, however the transition from male to female was not. It was abrupt. Almost like you had another book playing. I do not like when you have 2 narrators because it is so difficult to make it so it's not jarring. This was jarring to the point that I took exedrine. Just pick a narrator.
Stop with the music.
This is an audio book NOT a TV show. It detracts from the story and there was more music playing than actual dialogue. I don't need to hear swords clanging. That's what my imagination is for. And the attempt at good sound effects for these stories is NEVER good. Just stop. No music. No sound effects.
I would not have listened to this if I wasn't multitasking and doing other things. I think the writer has potential, but feel she dropped the ball with this story. And the narration with all the extra noise and transitioning was awful. Not sure who controls that, the narrators, editors, or who. I seem to hear it mostly when there's a male narrator. So I'm not sure if it's their addition or what. But mostly women read and listen to romance stories and we have imaginations. We certainly don't need to be force fed someone else's version of what we should be hearing.

Fun
It’s a good story, but both the story and narration come off like a high school project. The narrators were good with what they had to work with. Short on details and stunted dialogue. I’m a veteran of racy romance novels, but I blushed at the intimacy in this book. I think the narrators did too. It was fun nevertheless, and once I started, I wanted to find out what happened.

Story dragged on...
I couldn't get past about 2 1/2 hours of this - I couldn't take it anymore. I just couldn't get into the story. The narrators were great though. I wouldn't mind listening to the narrators, just with a different story.

If below 5/10,why?
Was cheating involved? No

3 Stars for me!
Internal Monolog? Please stop,.. No really!
Light, Moderate, Heavy or Please Stop
Scenes with heat... No
Heat Rating... 1/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
Normal to Descriptive 3-5
Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above
The back story... The blurb covers it
The Romance... I think there might have been some but it is completely drowned out by the H's woe with me attitude.
The drama explosion... The H finally gets out why he blames himself for a woman's death.
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? Contrived
Was it OTT? Yes
Separation involved? Slight
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Differently
Final Notes... This story covers a lot of ground between Ireland and the Middle East and is told from different religious perspectives (based on the character's point of view). What I liked was the author let the characters get to know each other which slowly started to alter their perception of their enemies. What made the story difficult for me to care about it was the H and his overly dramatic attitude about every situation. Do I kill her... I must, but I shouldn't. I should die for my failure to protect my charge... but I must finish x quest. I am mad that they put me on this boat with you... Ugh.
I wish the author started changing and redeeming our H at the 50% mark instead of the 98% mark.

I really didn’t like the reader
The heroine sounded like a chipmunk to me. I have never heard an adult female sounding like that. The story may have deserved better raising, but voices too distracting. If I bought it, it’s going back. Hope it was a borrowed one.

very good and clean
it was a very interesting historical feeling book, that covered Legends. and quite honestly things that I don't normally read about. it's hard to find something like this and I really enjoyed it was very different from what I normally find and it is definitely worth keeping.
I think it is also worth anybody's time
