Roy McMillan
This is a story from the The Body Snatcher and Other Stories collection.
The Body Snatchers is one of Robert Louis Stevenson's most chilling tales. After many years, a chance encounter between two former medical students forces them to recall their sinister past and foul play that was better left buried. Perfect for long winter nights, these stories have been specially selected to create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. Read by Roy McMillan, with Naxos AudioBooks's trademark of carefully chosen music.

It is not clear if a "bitter poor and bitter ugly" fisherman finds happiness thanks to his supernatural visitor, but after an ocean voyage and communion with the dead, he is able to attract an Earl’s daughter as his wife. By turns melancholy and haunting, Roy McMillan performs this quirky, eerie fable from Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer Robert Louis Stevenson, best known for novels such as Treasure Island, and Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This selection is from The Body Snatchers and Other Stories collection.
