A good book with a lot of ideas
Overall I liked it. The author has a lot of good ideas for communicating/teaching kids. I don’t agree with using a Montessori approach for older kids (I went to a Montessori school and had a lot of catch-up to do when I switched to a regular school) but it seems like a very good idea for toddlers.

Exactly what I needed
A fabulous and a functional book that helped me feel confident that I understood the practical and the philosophical implementation of the Montessori Method at the Toddler level. The audio performance was flawless. The only thing I wish was added were additional companion books for the other plains of development!

There is Hope!
I need to read this weekly. This book has helped with my temper and exhaustion. We visited a Montessori school near us after reading this book and I look forward to putting my 2 year old at their school in the future for a few years!

First audible book
I really enjoyed listening to this book it gave great examples and tips on how to raise an independent child. They also provide a PDF file. I do consider buying the physical book because of the pictures and graphs they don’t show but it’s efficient to listen to it on audible so you have read/heard the content at least once saves time and you can always go back for reference.

Wonderful book
Loved every page!
To raise a more independent, loved and curious toddler.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling in some aspects and is looking forward to strengthening the bond between parents and their child and understand how children act in order to handle situations. It does not matters if your child is going to a traditional school ( because I get it, Montessori schools could be expensive) because you can put into practice all this ideas in your daily life.

Great content, but not good for audio
This book has great ideas, but most of them are in list form so it’s hard as an audio book. There’s a list you hear read off every few minutes. I’m going to go get the physical book instead.

very educational
This book came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Would suggest this to all parents getting started on the Montessori approach who want an easily digestible way to understand it better.

great book
very helpful for understanding the mindset and needs of toddlers. it is slightly repetitive but I think that's a good thing. I will definitely listen again as my 1 year old goes through this tough growing period.

Overall lovely approach, a shame about the ingrained sleep training
I really enjoyed the general information in this book. I am a gentle parent and feel like these parenting styles mostly align. It has given me a lot of ideas for activities with my toddlers and different approach for play/learning. Unfortunately the sleep section was very disappointed to me. It demonstrated just how embedded sleep training is in our culture. From talking about respectful parenting in the day time I felt this wasn’t mirrored in the night parenting approach. It discussed the ‘disappearing chair’ technique without calling it that. Also refers to biological normal sleep habits negatively. I won’t be recommending this book based on that.

informative but frustrating delivery
Informative content but I suspect that reading the book would be better. I found the narration painful- particularly the regular use of 'slash' between every item of a list. it was annoying slash frustrating slash irritating slash repetitive.. you get the jist

Very clearly explains what Montessori approach is
As a father, reading this book really helped me to understand my toddler better and enjoy them more as a human being. Toddlers are often labeled as "terrible two" and this book helped me to enjoy their company much more. It starts by explaining how toddlers think and it helped me to see their perspective better and not get annoyed. I introduced some principles from the book and it is really funny but it works. Funny because we always had loads of activities at home and she rarely played with them. Turned out that the activities and toys have to be "prepared". I "prepared" the room after reading the chapter and magic, the toddler has woken up and jumped to solve all of them one by one and didn't want to have breakfast until she solved all of them she was so focused. It was very amusing.

Very useful and a great book if interested in mindful parenting and Montessori of course
I am a new parent and have been drawn toward Montessori. The approach really resonates with my instincts towards my child and it really questions some of the traditional maybe less mindful ways of parenting. Highly recommend it!

Great starting point
I’m aware of the theory of Montessori on an introductory level but this book goes into a lot of detail. Found it easy to understand and the NO PRESSURE approach is a god send if, like me, you get overwhelmed easily with advice coming from all different sources. The overall ethos is do what you can, we make mistakes but can repair, be kind to yourself and importantly set up steps around your home so you can’t fail in those easy to fail moments (clean nickers near the loo and house rules ok the wall to refer your children to in those distressing moments - even if they can’t read). Very good book.

Very useful and full of great info
If you are interested in understanding and using the Montessori approach, then this is the perfect book. Not too complex, but not too easy. The perfect balance for a good start and complete understanding of the basic principles. Love it!
