Jacob and Wilhelm's first book of fairy tales, Children's and Household Tales, published in 1812, included 86 folktales and was an instant success. Just over six minutes long and accompanied by period music, this Brothers Grimm story proves easy listening. Experienced actor Laura Paton's soothing voice suits classic titles well. Here, she gives a sweet, enthusiastic performance. She even lets loose a bit to have fun with the colorful characters' voices. All in all, this tiny tale with a good moral ought to go over well with little folks at home.
