Anthony Scaramucci is overall a pretty straight shooter and I've been aware of his work for many years. He is pretty intelligent and his ability to adapt to situations is something that has lead to his success. There are good insights to be gleaned from this book.
Also there are a number of pretty amusing sound bites when read in the tone Don Hagen delivers them.
It's pretty rare that I rate something 4 stars.
If you don't know anything about hedge funds or even more so funds of funds this is a great intro. If you have reasonable experience you will likely find a new perspective on something. In the time I took to write this review I potentially could have helped add value in excess of $1 bil... if you are on the fence about it just get it.

Excellent overview of hedge funds
If you are interested in learning more about hedge funds, this is the book you need to listen to.
I've been a fan of Anthony Scaramucci for some of his other work in the alternative investment world. I watch his show Wall Street Week every Friday on Fox. Mr Scaramucci is very connected within this industry. He shares his first hand knowledge of hedge funds in a detailed and easy to digest layout in this book.
It's a great read whether you are interested in investing, working in, or just getting more knowledge about this fascinating alternative investment vehicle. It's all laid out here in great detail and pulls back the curtain of this largely secretive industry.
As an added bonus, Mr Scaramucci includes a short interview with select "hedge fund legends" at the end of most of the chapters which provide some candid information on how they got started in the industry and their outlook on its future.

Really good intorduction to the industry.
I've found the "Little Books" series to be somewhat hit and miss, but this one is a hit. It avoids the trap some of its sister books fall into of either skimming over too much material, or covering too little. Scaramucci provides a comprehensive introduction that will give you a much better idea how this vast industry operates, and dispels some of the common myths around it. He also explains some of the common strategies HF use and how they differ from traditional Long-Only funds.
Oh and if you're buying this to find out how to get into the industry, Scaramucci will provide some advice, but he will also give you some truths that will make you think very carefully about whether this is *really* what you want.
Narrator is fine.
