Hard to believe was written almost 200 years ago
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a such a great short(ish) story. The descriptions of the people, scenery, and life in the Hudson valley were excellent. Then there's that neat and very ambiguous supernatural element in it as well.
I read this story back in high school eons ago. Loved it then, love it now. It almost feels contemporary despite its age.
Btw, reading it again made me realise the Disney version of this got the look of Ichabod Crane just right.

Classic book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Maybe, just for the story itself.
What did you like best about this story?
The whole story. This is a classic original tale so many others have copy-catted.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Not much, Mr. Sisco speaks in such a monotone voice it was difficult to understand the emotions in the story at all. We were trying to listen in our home school class and actually turned it off and bought another version.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The last third of this book is wonderfully scary!

A great story
What made the experience of listening to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the most enjoyable?
It was short and so I could listen to it with few breaks.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ichabod because he thinks he's got it all figured out on how to get the girl.
What does Curtis Sisco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He's a good storyteller. His reading is fluid and easy to follow. He pronounces the words well and doesn't make awkward pauses like other narrators sometimes do.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A twist at the end
Any additional comments?
This was a good story that is about middle school level. It's not particularly one that I feel my 7 year old could follow, but a story I plan to share with him in the future.

The Good Ones Never Get Old
If you could sum up The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in three words, what would they be?
Entertaining, humorous, lively
What other book might you compare The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to and why?
Like Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow gives an enchanting view into the dynamics of everyday life in colonial times.
What about Curtis Sisco’s performance did you like?
Sisco does a splendid job giving distinct voices to each of the characters and does so with attention to the story flow.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Listening to this book brings back happy memories of being read the story as a child. I couldn't help but laugh at the foibles of the character.
Any additional comments?
As you can tell from my earlier comments, I am quite enthusiastic about this experience. If you purchase this version, you will be, too.

Terrible Narration
Worst narrator I have listened to. He speaks in staccato the entire time. When he emphasizes a word, it seems last minute, like he is reading the story for the first time.

Classic Storytelling at its Best
I loved this story as a child but had long forgotten it. This Audiobook is fantastic, well spoken version and perfect to listen to on Halloween night after all the trick or treaters have gone.

A classic worth reading
If you could sum up The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in three words, what would they be?
Descriptive, interesting, classic
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ichabod Crane - very well drawn and not designed to be particularly likable.
What aspect of Curtis Sisco’s performance might you have changed?
His performance wasn't bad, but I wasn't bowled over. I suppose there wasn't much of a chance for him to "put on voices" as there wasn't much dialogue.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was relatively short, so I listened to it in two sittings (perhaps "walkings" is more fitting) over the course of one day. It was good enough to warrant one sitting.
