A master of story telling
This book was a great adventure. The characters seem so real and the story moves wonderfully fast. Yet not at the expense of building up the characters to the point where they seem like real people.
A wonderful job and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.!

The performance of the reader is really good! Well done!! You read with even voice and great characterization!!
Book content
Too many characters too much crap going on, and yet sooo predictable.
*spoiler alert *
“The crow”- dark and mysterious has all the power to create a “new age”. He so bad ass he even throws down the 500 y.o. Wizard, a dragon and and entire race of Orcs!!
But oh my gosh he keeps the wizard alive because his brilliant twisted plan needs him in the second and third installment.
If you’re so bad ass that you can take over an entire race of orcs and you can thrawrt the authors version of gandolf then why don’t you just flipping take over all the unsuspecting kings and their kingdoms by looking in their mirror and telling them what to do! Oh! I know why so you can write books 2, 3, and 4 and keep getting PAID.
Not a good book and just another crap series that will probably span at least three books, but could tell the entire story in two or three paragraphs. Stop writing for money, write because you’re good! Author is capable of so much more than this drivel linked to some other trilogy.

Philip C Quaintrell did it again!
Like all his books, this is a great listen! Story is well written with with familiar characters, and some new ones . This is an excellent start to a new storyline. Steven Brand’s narrating is perfect! This is the only way to follow the Echoes of Fate series!

Really wanted to not dislike it overall
I enjoyed most the story and the majority of the characters but the antagonistic made me start to hate the story. Without giving away spoilers, every chapter focusing on the antagonistic made me dislike the book more and more to the point that I am on the fence in continuing with the rest right now.

First book I have given up on in awhile.

Endless Droning - Droning - The Droning is Endless
Wow. I really tried to like this. But the narration by Steven Brand is beyond bad. It's almost indescribable just how monotonous, mentally flaccid, and dreary the narration is. Never wavering, never changing, just endless droning, on and on and on into the night. I listened to nearly the whole thing and then realized I had no idea what was going on. All I remember is endless droning, incomprehensible word salad, and dark auditory sadness.

not liking the darker turn
I'm a big fan of the previous books, not happy with the darker turn this one took. Enough of that in the real world. I know stuff will probably work out in the end but just too dark and frustrating to get through it, stopped half way through.

vanilla fantasy
a basic story about humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, evil necromancers, and friendly dragons. the performance is dull and the story isn't very original, but it's good if you're in the mood for something plain. I may give the next in the series a chance.

Great adventure and I can't wait for the next!
What a great story. The characters were interesting and even the dragons have their own personality. I really appreciate it that the author wrote about the female characters in a strong way and not resorted to needless abuse as some other books do. This story has it all: Dwarves, elves, humans, orcs, dragons, mages, and more! Highly recommend!

Desperate measures
Well I really enjoyed the fist few books this i know is setting a scene but it is a bit bleak for our hero’s a real struggle for our I hope they do better in the next book
