Deliverance
Would you listen to The End of Religion again? Why?
Yes
To cement through repetition what I've been given in Hebrews.
Any additional comments?
Sometimes you struggle alone with what you've come to understand about Christ, Salvation and Religion. I say struggle because it is not at all what Christian Denominations have taught throughout all my growing up and adult years. But at the turn of 2017, I came to an understanding that I could hardly share with most of my associates, as they, like me have been thoroughly indoctrinated by the denomination of our upbringing.
I listened to this book and felt the deliverance that clearly has been coming to me through the Word and through other readings, find it completeness. My life, my salvation, my deliverance, my freedom from religious dogma it is all wrapped up in Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for the confirmation.

Decent but flawed
Bruxy Cavey is a pastor of a conservative mega church in Canada. It’s non denominational but has through his efforts found a level of kinship with the Ana Baptist community. This book ideas could’ve been summarized easily in a book 1/3-1/2 it’s length without loosing anything. Bruxy speaks of love of the other but continually likes to argue the superiority of his views. Also his church is non-affirming which makes it far less Christian than other Ana Baptist churches in my opinion. I agree with the basic message of the book that Christ through his existence has ended the need of religion. However, this book has been significantly dumbed down for the needs of a mega church audience and without exploring the non welcoming space that bruxy’s own church embodies.

Ready to lose my religion
For those seeking a new way to encounter God and Jesus, this book strips away all the barriers that impede that relationship and restores the original goal of God’s purpose to send Jesus to Earth.
My own religious beliefs are complex these days, and difficult to articulate. This book felt like a kind of conversion – it taught me a new way to live, and it gave me a new way to conceive of the holy.
Filled with more flexible and more compassionate approaches and shining a light of truth on denominational religious doctrine that if we are really honest have nothing to do with Christ but everything to do with exclusion, impossible compliance and real struggles with encouraging others to embrace a loving God.

Jesus was a wave maker, a rebel, a rogue...
Or, he at least seemed to be by those who clung to a facade of power and authority. His subversive spirituality is designed to reorient our eyes to the truth of God which has been clouded by human doctrine and systems of rules. Bruxy does an incredible job of pointing this out, systematically and with humor, while not neglecting the inspired, written Word of God.

If I read this first, I would still be Christian
I left the faith a long time ago after seeing how hateful and cruel the religion was I grew up in and this book sheds light on where the faith strayed from the relationship with God and Jesus to being all about preaching hellfire and brimstone and hurting others. this was a profoundly inspiring book and I wrote many quotes down to think about and share.

A road sign to see Gods as he desire us to see him
I first read thus book about fifteen years ago. I purchased the audio book as a gift for my adult son. I’ve listened to it hoping you have significant conversation with him and hopefully my grandchildren. Three books stand out in my readings. The Bible. Devine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard and The End of Religion.

good read; logical breakdown
enjoyed the book and the breakdown of Jesus as we should/could know him. Also, Bible verses were included for reference so you could take a look at it and decide what's true for you.

Cutting back the fluff
I really enjoyed the type of diction used - it was written to be understood, rather than a showpiece for Bruxy’s cleverness. Refreshing perspective
