A captivating 12-lecture audio series on the whole Bible by renowned biblical scholar Fr. Michael D. Guinan.
The Bible is the bestselling book of all time, but for many it remains an intimidating read. Beginning with the basics, this informative audio series starts by exploring the origins and organization of the Bible. How did we get the Bible? When did chapter and verse numbering begin? What is the King James Bible? Why do we have so many new translations today? Find the answers to these questions and many more as Biblical spirituality expert Fr. Guinan takes your understanding of the Bible to new heights.
Join Fr. Guinan as he explains how our interpretations of the book have changed over the centuries. What is meant when we say that the Bible is the word of God? Survey the implications of biblical interpretation and theology in our religion today. Explore ecumenical councils, and their use and understanding of Biblical text. Learn about encyclicals and their roots in the Bible.
Fr. Guinan demonstrates that the Bible is much more than just an ancient book; it is a truth that can be actualized in different ways in our lives. Whether you have read the Bible cover-to-cover, or simply listen to the Sunday readings, you will profit immensely from this series.
