This book is why I hate the publishing industry

There is good information here - I'm sure of it - but you have to slog through the worst kind of filler to get to it.

It starts in the introduction. Instead of just saying "this book is for everyone" and leaving it at that, it painstakingly lists every profession, situation and human being that might ever have a use for the book.

This happened repeatedly in the first two chapters of the book, list after long list when it could have been summed up in a sentence or two.

This is filler of the worst kind because it's so blatant and lazy. It's an attempt for the publisher to increase the page count without increasing value. It only serves to aggravate and kill valuable time.

The Ask is an opportunity ruined. I'll be The Asking for a refund.

Where to begin and end

I have been asked and I have been donating to many charities. Just recently I am the asker for my own creative projects and none profits. This is a great book I wish I had a chance to read earlier. So many of my questions have been answered.

Excellent. Wish for more downloadable resources.

I found this book best consumed in small doses, ie listen for a half hour, then mull it over. Don't skip anything - there are gems even in the sections that don't seem relevant at this time. I with there were more downloadable resources.

Great book for development professionals

Gives you a step-by-step outline of how to prepare for and execute a successful ask. Well worth the time and money.
