Desperate poachers are stalking the dwindling populations of Zimbabwe's great game parks. Ancient rivalries have ignited modern political ambitions and nothing is certain for those of the old Africa. But for Richard Dunn the stakes are even higher. Into his world comes the beautiful and compelling Steve Hayes, a woman struggling to guard her own dreadful secret. Richard has no choice: face the consequences of the past and fight for the future. To lose now is to lose everything.©1996 Beverley Harper (P)2000 Bolinda Publishing Narrativa contemporanea Narrativa di genere

Recensioni della critica

"Bad weather is not the issue here. The storms are personal and ecological. Wildlife is being poached in Zimbabwe's game parks, and local farmer Richard Duran has to get over the facts that his Aussie ladylove inadvertently slept with his son and his rebellious daughter is pregnant by a tribal activist. Many voices and accents are called for here, and Jerome Pride's Australian birth and UK theater experience come in handy as he makes each character stand out. You can't miss Richard's anger and anguish or Steve's (this is the girl) guilt and determination. Some of the action is grisly, so beware. Otherwise, you will enjoy this well-narrated adventure."
