Kate Forbes
Twenty-four-year-old Cheney Duvall believes she will be taken seriously once she finishes medical school. Months later, however, she still is without a position; no one wants to consult a woman doctor. When she hears of a shipload of hopeful brides-to-be bound for Seattle via the Panama Canal, however, her luck changes. The ship's authorities are eager to have a woman physician on board. But once Cheney meets the 100 women - and her disturbing male nurse assistant - she fears she has gotten in way over her head.
Father-daughter writing team Lynn Morris and Gilbert Morris combine their talents to provide first-class entertainment with nourishment for the soul. Narrator Kate Forbes' stirring interpretation highlights Cheney's successes and setbacks as she discovers the path to complete self-fulfillment.
