Wonderful character studies in a tragic story
Soundless has been my favorite Audible book so far. It provides a roller coaster of emotions as you follow the current events and flashbacks of the life of Nick Raze, a famous violinist. My MP3 player went on the blink in the middle of the story which put me in a panic since I was so hooked on the story and anxious to find out what was going to happen next!! The characters are well defined, likeable, and complex. The author delivers rich insights into their fears, hopes, and thoughts. Like any great book, I wished it was twice as long since I didn't want it to end. I would highly recommend this audiobook to musicians or lovers of rich character studies.

Thoughtful and Engaging
I listened to this book every free moment that I had, in the morning while preparing for work, in the car and even while cooking dinner. The narrator was very smooth and easy to listen to. I felt like I knew and cared about each character and wanted to hear more from each one of them. Although the story line was unique and engaging, be warned, it does have a theme of child abuse running through the story. While the abuse angle was tough, it was not so detailed as to be inappropriate. If you enjoy books that deal with how people face and overcome terrible hardships in their life, you will enjoy this book. I highly recommend it.

Work of Art, but Rated R
Work of fiction about a violin soloist living in Chicago. Beautifully written, but explicit in many places. Psychologically heavy. Like "The Great Gatsby" meets "A Child Called 'It'" meets "Deliverance." A true work of art despite the difficult subject matter, but it comes with a warning to unsuspecting readers: be prepared for just about anything.

heartbreaking and lovely
This is one of my very favorite audio books. I have probably listened to it a dozen times. The reader's voice is soothing. And the story gets me in the feels. It is just so well done.
