Sintesi dell'editore

The one real difference between the American press and the Soviet state newspaper Pravda was that the Russian people knew they were being lied to. To expose the lies our media tell us today, controversial journalist James O'Keefe created Project Veritas, an independent news organization whose reporters go where traditional journalists dare not. Their investigative work - equal parts James Bond, Mike Wallace, and Saul Alinsky - has had a consistent and powerful impact on its targets.

In American Pravda, the listener is invited to go undercover with these intrepid journalists as they infiltrate political campaigns, unmask dishonest officials, and expose voter fraud. A rollicking adventure story on one level, this audiobook also serves as a treatise on modern media, arguing that establishment journalists have a vested interest in keeping the powerful comfortable and the people misinformed.

This audiobook not only contests the false narratives frequently put forth by corporate media; it documents the consequences of telling the truth in a world that does not necessarily want to hear it. O'Keefe's enemies attack with lawsuits, smear campaigns, political prosecutions, and false charges in an effort to shut down Project Veritas. For O'Keefe every one of these attacks is a sign of success. American Pravda puts the myths and misconceptions surrounding O'Keefe's activities to rest and will make you rethink every word you hear in the so-called mainstream press.

Ten Reason to listen this book.

* Learning that CNN would play an illegally obtained Mitt Romney recording, but not show a video of a paid Hillary campaign worker who was legally filmed breaking campaign laws.
* Hearing about O’Keefe walking across the Rio Grand dressed as Osama Bin Laden to demonstrate how secure border really is.
* Finding out that the courts will not allow under-cover video in Massachusetts.
* Finding out that Project Veritas has filmed Republican candidates breaking campaign laws - forcing them to drop out before the election.
* If you are not aware of the media bias then this is a real eye opener.
* Verifying my suspicions that the Trump inauguration protest were instigated by Clinton campaign staff.
* Verifying my suspicions that the fights at Trump campaign events were instigated by Clinton supporters.
* Learning why under cover videos were released one at a time.
* Finding out that Veritas filmed church busses hauling the same voters to different polling precincts - no wonder Democrats are against voter ID laws.
* Finding out that even Fox news was reluctant to show undercover videos of illegal campaign activities

About time!!!

It is about time James entered the audiosphere!
By the time you finish the book you’ll realize how much of what you hear from the news is in fact the opposite of truth (Pravda).
This book made me think of Nathan Sharansky’s words about his captivity in the Lubianka’s infamous cells. He and the other political prisoners were only allowed to read the “Pravda” and yet he was able to get to the real truth of it by systematically inverting the words: this was the predictability of socialist hell.

Wow.. Powerhouse, Earth Shaking, Ground Breaking..

So much under the hood in this book it's amazing.
I hope that mr. of O'Keefe keeps up the good work.
it showed to me a set of morals to do the work that Andrew Breitbart started.
I pray that he can keep going and keep discovering the truth.

Stellar!

Okeefe has set the bar and it’s impossible despite all the tens of millions of dollars they have, for the mainstream media to even come close to the new world of citizen journalism. They just don’t have the balls, intelligence, or a desire to be outside of the system.

#ProjectVeretas

I have enjoyed listening to this book. I am a big fun of authors narrating their own books. If you are not aware of the media bias then this would be an eye opener. Get knowelegeble and support real freedom of speech.

Good Story Great Content Very Well Read

As a Conservative I found the content very well done. I could see that people from a different viewpoint will have a hard time with it however. It paints the acts of Project Veritas in a very positive light (which is to be expected from the author) and paints the people they expose to be acting in bad faith at best and criminal at worst. Aside form the politics the book is a great media drama. The things the undercover reporters have to do to get people to expose themselves make for a thrilling story in there own right and James can suck you into a point it almost sounds like a Spy thriller or crime novel.

But one of the points that surprised me most is that the author reads the book himself and its Great. I wish he would narrate other books as well But it seems he has a full time job that he finds rewarding. But he would make a great Narrator.

Eye-opening exposé of mainstream media bias and more

You won’t be able to take the earbuds out when you listen to this book. O’Keefe provides excellent analysis and detailed background about his projects over the years, and he makes the failure of mainstream media obvious. They hate O’Keefe not because he’s lying but because he tells “too much” truth.

Excellent

Returns journalism to its first principles. Quotes to ponder: “Pursue truth, not agenda.” “Deceiving the subject to get truth is moral. Never deceive the audience.” “Content is king.”

Gripping, Historic, Heroic

The fascinating story of James O'Keefe and his undercover journalism operation that tells like a spy thriller, weaving multiple threads together as an operation grows from a brief encounter to a viral internet sensation that can result in all manner of real world consequences.

O'Keefe documents his battles against the corrupt and powerful, and fulfills a role that is vital for maintaining a healthy society free from corruption.

Gangsters beware, Veritas is everywhere. Food for thought for would be schemers.

Bonus: O'Keefe's impressions of those who he quotes, varied and amusing. Excellent range sir!
