Awesome!
Awesome! A wonderful overview of the process of awakening. Plus how to experiment step by step. This book bridges a missing link in the contemporary pedagogy of awakening.

Like a fuzzy LASER doing loop de loops: 5 stars!
This book was great & weird & totally illuminating while being confusing: a fuzzy laser beam doing loop de loops. He seemed to use terms of his own creation before ever defining them. He moved quickly through what I'm sure is his clear vision of how these are related. Then this would be followed by dismantling/revealing the lie of the ego with a flick of the wrist. I look forward to absorbing this content on a loop until it is as clear as it apparently is to Loch. This was exactly what I needed.

Take the chance to embody this book, merge mind and soul.
The book was a fantastic precursor before his workshop in Berkeley. It’s really great to practice this in a group with others. I highly recommend all therapists and counselors even caregivers to really take the time to dive into this practice and allow yourself to integrate this into your daily life.

The right thing at the right time
A truly fascinating book. Full disclosure, I have read the whole thing in a couple days and have only done the exercises 3-4x so far, so I can't give a full report of how well the techniques work long term. Still, the material in this book is exactly what I need in my life at this moment, and I think a lot of people will experience it the same way. I have done a lot of CBT psychotherapy for years and made a lot of progress, but recently I'm having what I just describe to people as an "early midlife crisis", where I feel like all my thoughts and behaviors are more or less in line, my life circumstances are not perfect but are objectively good enough, but I have the constant pervasive feeling that life is fundamentally unfulfilling and meaningless, and none of the cognitive techniques that have worked on past depression or anxiety can touch it.
I have never liked "touchy feely" psychological/spiritual schools of thought, which is why I've had so much success with very matter-of-fact CBT strategies, so I held off on reading this book for a long time as I expected a bunch of new age mumbo jumbo. And it's definitely there, of course, but Loch does an exceptional job of keeping it to a minimum. He goes into great detail to break down big obscure concepts like "Consciousness" and "non-duality" and "mindfulness" and communicate them in ways that don't make people like me roll our eyes and walk away.
The "glimpse" meditations are also a total game changer for me. Like most people, I've tried meditating many times before and always fallen off after a few sessions because it was just painfully boring and frustrating, and all the supposed benefits were all supposed to take WEEKS to kick in. With these glimpses, I tried the first 3 techniques just listening along to the audiobook WHILE DRIVING, not closing my eyes or anything, and I immediately felt like I GOT IT! I actually FELT the mumbo jumbo he was talking about, with no "oh, you just need to suffer for 30 minutes a day for 3 weeks and then maybe you'll see a difference". As advertised, it just lasted for a few seconds and then I had to change lanes, but now I'm EXCITED to meditate again, and I feel a sense of hope that I would never have imagined.

Excellent
The narrator was excellent. The glimpse practices are easy to follow and the explanation is straight forward. There is a shift in perspective when you really listen to this book.

Helpful words for the wordless
I’ve been meditating for more then a decade and I really appreciate Lochs ability to give words, phrases, and practical exercises to mindfulness experiences that are usually beyond words.
I’m grateful for the accessibility of these books and glimpse exercises!
It’s an exceptional book series for beginners or advanced meditation and mindfulness practitioners.

Obsessively uses the word Awareness
I get it. Kelly loves talking about Awareness. Over and Over he repeats the Word. I got it. It becomes idiotic and annoying after awhile.The guy oozes Narcissism like so many of the Awareness Teachers. If you love the word Awareness buy this book.

Great listen, clear and detailed
Brilliant read for those who have some basic contemplative / mediation experience. I found Loch Kelly through Sam Harris and his Waking up App.
Loch offers a western, logically spin on spiritual ideas and explain things very clearly - really appreciate his work!

Glimpse practices are SO effective
I really struggled to get much value from Mindfulness-based practices before reading this book. The glimpse practices are SO effective - effortless mindfulness is changing my life for the better.

A very achievable path to peace
A clear pathway that can be followed by modern Western Man. Loch demystifies the mystical in a way that we are ready to hear. His clarity flows out of his direct experience but is enhanced by careful reference to a wide variety of sources of wisdom. Great and just what the world needs right now!

Shocked at the good reviews
I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. Very difficult to listen to and follow. I think there is a good message in this book but there’s so much fluff around it. I couldn’t continue listening without feeling frustrated at the slow pace and unnecessary vocabulary.
Maybe I’ll try listen at another time in my life.

Dear Loch
I have been waiting forty years for this to happen. But after a couple of weeks of doing your glimse practices I found myself sitting on a bench with my dog and laughing like the laughing buddha. At peace, everything I needed, calm, joyful, relaxed, experiencing everything as part of me. I think the dog knew it too. Deepest thank you, thank you, thank I you Loch.
